I just want to write a quick update. It's been a while since I've posted anything. I am now back at work. It was very difficult the first week or so, but now we're getting into a routine. I miss the girls so much while I'm gone. I'm glad Thanksgiving is coming up so I'll have a few extra days off to be with them.
Katelyn is still in gymnastics. She's doing very well. She has a little bit of trouble listening, which has caused her to get hurt (minor) a few times, but she's sticking it out and loves it.
Kylie is sitting up now, but still falls over once in a while. She loves to play on the floor with her toys. She's getting so big. She's 6 months old today! I can't believe it.
I'll try to give more detailed updates later. Going back to work has kept me very busy.

Trip to the Farm
On Thursday Katelyn, Kylie, and I met up with some friends at a farm. They all had a blast. Katelyn is obsessed with farm animals, but much to my surprise she was very reluctant to touch any of them. She did milk a cow, though! She would not hold any of the ducks or chicks. She didn't even want to touch the pigs, which is her favorite animal. She loved the hayride and train ride. And before we left we got to pick out a pumpkin. So it was a great day at the farm.

One of those days...
Today has been one of those days that I was warned about when people found out I was pregnant with Kylie - having 2 children is not easy. On one side of me I have 4 month old Kylie crying because she's tired, and on the other side is 2.5 year old Katelyn crying because she's tired. This was at 11:00 am. I finally just stuck Kylie in her crib to cry-it-out for a while, and I put Katelyn in her room because I was really about to lose my patience. After about 10-15 minutes of putting the pacifier back in Kylie's mouth, she was asleep and quiet. Around that same time frame Katelyn calmed down, too. So, that situation just goes to show that putting them somewhere safe while you take some time to calm down really helps. I felt much better after a 10 minute break.

Big Day
Yesterday was a big day in the Lugo household. Katelyn had her first day of gymnastics. She did great! She clung to me at first and was very shy. She didn't quite understand what her teacher wanted her to do. But I stood by her side and helped her. About halfway through the class she warmed up to what was going on and got right into it. I think she'll do even better next Wednesday since she knows what's going on.
Kylie had a busy day, too. My baby girl got her pretty little ears pierced. She was mad at first, but now she doesn't even fuss a bit about it. Unfortunately, she had to get some shots, too. But she was a trooper. She had her check-up and weighs 13 lbs, 10 oz (50th percentile). She's 26 inches long (95th percentile). So I have a tall baby. Other than her piercing and shots, she did very well.
I'm so proud of my babies!

My Sister, Coryn
My sister, Coryn, called me today to give me her "official" news that she is moving to California. She said the only thing that will keep her from going is not being able to negotiate her salary. I am so sad. We have not always gotten along, but for the most part she's always been close by. I hate thinking about her leaving and not knowing if we'll ever live near each other again. It just doesn't seem real yet, but I am still so sad.
Coryn is such an awesome person. She is a hard worker and good at what she does. California will be lucky to have her. I hope this is a good opportunity for her to follow her dreams and find the career she really loves. I support her 100%.

Katelyn and Kylie Milestones
My girls have hit a few milestones in the last few weeks. Katelyn is now officially not taking a nap anymore. We still make her have quiet time in her room, and she loves that. Occasionally she'll fall asleep playing on the floor. It's so cute!
Kylie has learned to scoot (on her back). She digs her little heals into the floor and pushes off. I'll put her down in one place and position, and two seconds later I'll turn around and she'll be facing a different direction or have scooted like 3 feet away from her original location. I've got a mover on my hands.
We attempted to put Kylie in her crib the last few nights. I wasn't ready and couldn't sleep. The monitor was too loud and I felt an anxiety in me that I just couldn't shake. So Kylie is still in our room. She sleeps better in her bassinet, so I plan to keep her there now until she outgrows it. Then we'll move her to her room. Hopefully, I'm not setting myself up for bad sleeping habits. Katelyn is such a good night sleeper, it would be a shame if this prevents Kylie from being the same.
